Senior Room Camp 2016
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
This year the Senior Room will be going on Camp to Bannockburn, from Monday 21st March to Thursday 24th, (day before Good Friday). We will be staying at the Bannockburn School Camp (Schoolhouse Rd, Cromwell 9384). This is an excellent facility, in Bannockburn.
The camp will involve physical activities such as climbing, kayaking, cycling and walking and is designed to challenge and develop key competencies, self esteem and team work.
We will be travelling in cars, leaving school at approximately 9am, 21st March. Myself, Richie and 4 – 5 Parent helpers (to be confirmed within the next 2 to 3 weeks) will be providing support and adult supervision for this camp. If you wish to be considered as Parent help for this camp, please fill in and return the form at the end of this letter by 9th February 2016 and we will forward the relevant application forms.
The approximate cost of this camp will be $150. This is before the fundraising from last years student council has been applied. The school council will continue this in 2016. We would appreciate a $100 contribution towards this prior to camp.
A clothing and equipment list is attached. This will also be emailed to each student and accessible on the Senior Room Blog at http://seniorroomdiptonschool.blogspot.co.nz/ Please note there will be a helmet check at school on Monday, 14th March.
Also attached is Dipton School’s Education Outside the Classroom’s expectations for a school camp.
And finally, attached is the parental consent forms to allow your child to attend this camp and a health profile form which must be upto date for the health and safety of our camp. Please return all consents and health profile forms by Friday 12th February.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us: jo@dipton.school.nz or 2485208.
Thanks, Jo Bringins
